Vintage Wooden Bookends Bearded Man

Pair of wooden carved or molded bookends designed in the shape of a bearded man. I believe the face is of an historical figure, possibly Galileo or Grant? Who ever it is they show great character and are quite substantial, good weight & thick. Both have green felt underneath. One of them appears to have split and was glued together and must have happened during processing, since the felt is on top of the crack (please see all pics). A few minor nicks, overall very good condition. Approx measurements are 6 3/8" x 6 1/2" x 3 3/8".
